أشياء أكبر من أن تُحكى، لكنّني أؤمن بأن الحكاية وحدها قادرة على خلق وطنٍ صغير نحمله في جيبنا، ونحدّث عنه أطفالَنا الذين ولدوا خارج الوطن، وحملوا وَسْمَه في وجوههم وألسنتهم وهوياتهم من دون أن يروا حجراً فيه، فالحكاية فقط كفيلةٌ بخلق الوطن الخيال في أذهانهم حيّاً.
هذه المجموعة تتناول قصصاً من حياة سيداتٍ عشن بين نهرين؛ بين سوريا، وواحدةٍ من دول اللجوء، وتعنى بالتفاصيل الصغيرة في هاتين الحياتين، وبما خلّفته الحرب من مؤثّرات في حياة هؤلاء النساء خيبةً وفقداً وهرباً وحبّاً.
هي محاولة للتغلّب على مشهد الحرب الكبير، وصقيع الحدود الزاحف نهراً من جليد بين الكتفين، بتفاصيل صغيرة، يعلو فيها الصوت متسائلاً: "نعم، عشتُ بين نهرين، ولكنْ أيٌّ منهما عاش فيّ؟".
