إذا كانت الرواية استلهاما خياليا لوقائع وقعت بالفعل، وإن اليوميات هي التوثيق الفعلي لرؤية كاتبها ونظرته إلى الوقائع كما عايشها، فإن نص "قطعة ناقصة من سماء دمشق"، يذهب إلى ما هو أبعد من التزاوج بل هو أقرب إلى انحلال الفنون في تفاصيل بعضها البعض، شعرا ونثرا، رواية خيال أو يوميات كائن حي، تفاصيل لكل واحد وتعميم لا يعني أحدا، البكاء صنو الضحك المجلجل، عند جملة تفاجئك رغم السياق المتوقع، ولكن ذلك يفوق كل احتمال يطرحه خيالك.
